The swim course is a point to point swim starting on the Banyan Tree Lang Co beach. Athletes head out to the sea and then turn right to swim parallel to Lang Co beach. After another right turn they exit the water at Angsana Lang Co beach.
The bike course is a very scenic time trial course. Heading out of Laguna Lang Co athletes will have to master the first climb. The course then takes them on open roads through rice fields and some villages. A short section on the traffic controlled national highway connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City athletes will face another climb over a mountain pass. From the top of the pass beautiful Lap An Lagoon will come into view for the first time. Athletes will ride along the lagoon before reaching Lang Co town from where they will head back to Laguna Lang Co with one final climb just before transition.
Drafting is illegal. Suggested equipment includes a minimum of two water bottle cages. None of the climbs are very steep but some athletes may consider a 24-28 tooth rear cassettes to ease the difficulty of the climbs. Some of the road surfaces may be rough and athletes should use durable tires. The bike course will have 2 aid stations.
The run course is a two lap course entirely run on the the Nick Faldo designed Laguna Lang Co golf course. The surface is mainly grass with some short gravel track sections. The course will have aid stations every 1.5 kilometers apart.
